Kids Cooking Co TM

Kids Cooking Co was born in October 2006 and was finally launched March 2008

It all began with a special yellow spoon, which my grandmother had painted a face onto it.

At the start of every cook session we had, my girls used to bicker over who got to use the spoon, as we only had the 1. I could no longer stand the bickering, so I decided to buy the girls their very own cook set. I wanted the sets in pink, which contained a special spoon. I searched and searched but to no avail. It was then that I decided to design my own range with children in mind.

We have had so much fun along the journey in designing this range. My eldest daughter Alisha designed the company logo and Mi Mi helped with the name choosing. When we had delivery of the first complete set the whole family screamed and jumped with joy. The poor DHL man did not know what to think!

It’s hard to believe that just a year ago we were drawing and talking about the designs and now the concept has come together and sat on our kitchen shelf are the life like characters of Betty the Bowl and Suzy the Spoon. I so hope that you and your children have as much fun using this range as we do. The girls always find excuses to cook and I can see that I have 2 future chefs in the making!

In February 2008 my first 40ft container arrived at work- wow! It was huge and this was filled from floor to ceiling with the cook sets. It was only now that I realized that this was for real and I had really jumped in the deep end as I had not 1 customer. The container was unloaded with the help of family and friends and celebrated with some bubbly and bacon baguettes( we really know how to live it up!) Now time for all the hard work to start. As I am based in the South West I decided to cover home territory. I would pack my car up and pay the head buyer a visit, this was terrifying as I had no background history of sales, so all I could do was speak from the heart and keep my fingers crossed that they liked the range .I closed the door of the first shop, took a deep breath and very quietly had a little moment as I secured my first order. I will never forget that day and since then I have not looked back.

As this is just the beginning of our journey I have no more to say but just keep following this tale as there is so much more to come!!!!

Happy baking and look forward to seeing your pictures
